Why is my account being verified again after I've already started working?
Last updated: October 6, 2026
Applies to: US W-2 employees and independent contractors who were already working on an assignment and entering time normally, and now see a message that their account is being verified. If you are new and have not started yet, see Why your portal says to refrain from working until your account is approved instead.
Summary: An account that was already approved can go back into review when a new check is added to it, for example after we update the reviews we run on worker accounts. It does not mean your earlier onboarding was undone or that anything is wrong with you or your documents. Your assignment stays active and your hours are not lost. While the review is open you may not be able to enter time, so email your hours to us and we will add them.
Why it can happen after you have started
Verification is not only a one-time step at the start. From time to time we add or update the checks that apply to worker accounts. When that happens, an account that was already approved goes back into review until the new item has been checked. The message means something new is being checked, not that something you did earlier has been lost.
What it does and does not mean
Your assignment is still active.
The onboarding steps you already completed stay completed.
It is not a background check result and it is not a decision about you.
In most cases there is nothing you need to send. If we do need something, we will email you and say exactly what it is.
Getting your hours in while the review is open
While your account is in review, the portal may send you away from timesheet entry or refuse to save your time. Your hours are not lost. Email support@ascen.com with, for each day:
the date
your start time and end time
the length of any unpaid break
We will add the time for you and send it for approval, and it is paid on the normal cycle. For other reasons a timesheet can be blocked, see What to do if you can't enter or submit your timesheet.
How long it takes
Most reviews clear without anything needed from you, but there is no fixed turnaround we can promise, because what is being checked varies. If the review is stopping you from entering time, email support@ascen.com and ask us to look at it: we can see which item is outstanding and act on it.
If we tell you the review is complete and you still see the message, sign out and back in. If it is still there, reply to us straight away so we can check again.
