When does my benefit coverage begin?

Summary: After a 30-day waiting period from your hire date (and while you're actively at work), your coverage takes effect — weekly coverages on the Sunday after you meet the 30 days, monthly coverages on the first of the following month.
You become eligible after satisfying Ascen's 30-day waiting period from your date of hire, and you must be actively at work for coverage to take effect. From there:
Weekly coverages become effective on the Sunday following the date you satisfy the 30-day requirement.
Monthly coverages become effective on the first day of the month following the date you satisfy the 30-day requirement.
