How to get your benefits enrollment step reopened

Last updated: August 25, 2026

Applies to: Workers eligible for Ascen benefits who need their benefits enrolment step reopened. Eligibility depends on your assignment, so not every worker sees a benefits step.

Summary: If your benefits enrolment step recorded a decline you did not intend, moved past your selections before you made them, or is missing a plan you expected to see, the step can be reopened. Email support@ascen.com and ask for your benefits selection to be reset — do not leave it, because enrolment windows close.

When to ask for a reset

  • It advanced as though you declined. You were reading through the information and the step moved on, recording a decline, and you cannot go back to the previous pages.

  • You declined and changed your mind while your enrolment window is still open.

  • A plan you expected is not listed. If a specific plan is missing from your options, that can be a set-up issue on your enrolment record rather than a plan you are ineligible for.

  • You completed the step but chose the wrong option for you or your dependants.

How to ask

Email support@ascen.com with:

  • your full name and the email on your Ascen account;

  • what happened (declined by mistake, cannot go back, or a plan is not showing);

  • the plan you are trying to select, if you know its name.

We will reopen the benefits step, or correct your enrolment record if a plan is missing, and confirm when you can go back in and complete your selections.

Why timing matters

Benefits enrolment is time-limited. You normally have a set window after you become eligible, and after it closes you generally cannot enrol until the next open enrolment period or unless you have a qualifying life event. Retirement plan enrolment usually has its own, later deadline — your onboarding reminders show the dates that apply to you. Raise a mistaken decline as soon as you notice it.

What Ascen cannot do for you

We can reopen the step and fix set-up problems, but we cannot choose a plan for you or advise which plan to pick. For what each plan covers, see the plan documents referenced in the enrolment guide below.
