How do I change my payroll bank account?
Last updated: August 21, 2026
Applies to: US and Canada — both employees and independent contractors. If you're an international (non-US/Canada) employee paid through a local employer of record, your banking is set up through your in-country payroll, not this tab — contact your in-country payroll contact to change it (see How international employees are paid — payslips and local payroll).
Summary: Update your bank from the Direct Deposit tab — either connect your bank instantly by signing in, or enter your account and routing numbers manually.
Steps
Open the Direct Deposit tab in your account.
Choose how to update it:
- Update bank instantly — securely sign in to your bank to connect it (fastest, and avoids typos).
- Update bank manually — enter your routing and account numbers yourself. If you do this, double-check every digit — a wrong number can delay or misdirect your pay.Save your changes.
Update your bank before the next pay run so your pay goes to the right place; a change made mid-cycle may not take effect until the following paycheck. Questions? Email support@ascen.com.
