How to Submit a Timesheet After Missing the Deadline
Last updated: October 6, 2026
Applies to: US workers — W-2 employees and independent contractors — and Canada T4 employees who enter their own time. If you are an International EOR employee working outside the US and Canada, your personal records, time and pay are handled by your in-country HR contact, so ask them instead.
If you missed the weekly timesheet submission deadline, the system will prevent you from submitting or editing your timesheet directly. In this case, you'll need to contact support to have your hours entered manually on your behalf.
What to Include in Your Support Request
To get your timesheet submitted as quickly as possible, please have the following information ready when you reach out to timesheets@ascen.com:
Date(s) worked – The specific date or dates for which you need hours recorded.
Start and end time for each day – The exact times you began and finished work.
Unpaid break duration – The total length of any unpaid breaks taken during each shift, if applicable, and when those breaks started.
Your full name – The name on your Ascen account, so we find the right person if you are emailing from a personal or work address we do not recognise.
The assignment or client the hours belong to – The client or assignment name you worked for on those dates. If you have more than one assignment, we cannot tell which one the hours belong to, and time entered against the wrong one goes to the wrong approver.
What Happens Next
Once support receives your timesheet details, they will manually enter your hours into the system and send the timesheet for approval through the standard approval process. Be sure to watch for the approval request so it can be reviewed and processed promptly, ensuring you are paid for the hours worked.
Tip: To avoid missed deadlines in the future, make sure to submit your timesheet before the weekly cutoff. If you are blocked from submitting due to a pending business verification or compliance review, contact support as soon as possible so they can assist you.
Sending all five in your first message is what makes this quick. The most common reason a late timesheet takes an extra day is a follow-up email asking which assignment the hours were for, or when a break started.
