I already submitted my timesheet — why did I still get the weekly reminder email?
Last updated: August 25, 2026
Applies to: Workers who enter their own time in the Ascen portal — US W-2 employees, Canadian T4 employees, and US independent contractors. If you work outside the US and Canada, your time and pay run on your local in-country schedule, so this weekly reminder and these deadlines do not apply to you.
Summary: The Weekly Timesheets Reminder is an automated message sent on a schedule. Receiving one does not by itself mean your hours are missing. Check the status of your timesheet — if it is already submitted or approved, there is nothing else for you to do and you can disregard the reminder.
First, check your timesheet status
Sign in at app.ascen.com.
Open the Timesheets tab and select the assignment and week in question.
Look at the status shown for that week.
What each status means
Draft — your hours were entered but not submitted yet. This is the one case where the reminder is telling you something real. Submit it before your deadline.
Awaiting approval (or similar wording) — you have submitted, and it is now with your client or staffing Partner to approve. Nothing further is needed from you.
Approved — the week is finished and headed to payroll. Nothing further is needed from you.
If your week shows anything other than Draft, your hours are recorded and the reminder can be safely ignored.
Common situations
“I submitted on time but still got the reminder.” This is expected and does not mean your submission failed. Confirm the status as above; if it is submitted or approved, no action is needed.
“I don't see an Enter Time button at all.” On some assignments time entry is turned off because your staffing Partner or the client submits hours through their own system. In that case you will keep receiving the reminder even though there is nothing for you to enter — send your hours to your staffing Partner as usual. See What to do if you can't enter or submit your timesheet.
“I tried to enter time and was blocked.” An unfinished onboarding step is the most common cause. See Why can't I submit my timesheet yet?.
“The week is already closed.” Once your deadline has passed you can no longer enter that week yourself, and your hours will need to be added for you. See How to Submit a Timesheet After Missing the Deadline.
Can I turn the reminder off?
Not on your own — workers do not currently have a setting to switch off timesheet reminders, so you may receive one even on a week when you have nothing to enter.
Who to contact
For questions about entering hours, your assignment's schedule, or a week you cannot submit, contact your staffing Partner — they own timesheet entry and scheduling. For login or account access problems, email support@ascen.com.
