Where to find your tax documents for the year

Applies to: all workers — this article covers where year-end tax documents live and routes you to the right form for your worker type and country.

Summary: All your year-end tax documents are in the Documents section of your Ascen portal, generally available in January for the prior year's work (Canadian slips by the end of February). Which form you get depends on how you work: W-2 (US employees), 1099-NEC (US independent contractors), or T4 / Relevé 1 (Canadian employees).

Where they live

  1. Log in at app.ascen.com.

  2. Open Documents (app.ascen.com/contractor_documents).

  3. Select the tax year and download your form as a PDF. Documents stay available, so you can re-download them anytime.

You'll receive an email notification when a new document is ready. Depending on your delivery preferences you may also receive a mailed copy — electronic delivery is faster and isn't affected by address changes (see your consent/document-delivery settings).

If something's missing or wrong

  • Missing after the deadline: confirm you're looking at the right tax year, then email support@ascen.com.

  • Incorrect name, address, or amounts: email support@ascen.com — corrected forms (e.g. W-2C, amended 1099/T4) are issued once verified.

    No longer working through Ascen? Your documents stay available in your portal, and you can still email support@ascen.com — year-end forms are issued by Ascen as your employer or payer, so we handle them whether or not your assignment has ended.
