I accidentally listed myself as my own Authorized Representative. What happens now?

Summary: You can't be your own authorized representative, so your Form I-9 will be reset and you'll redo it with a different person. No one available? We can help by video call.

You can't verify your own documents, so listing yourself as the authorized representative isn't allowed. Here's the fix:

  1. Email support@ascen.com (or we may reach out to you) so we can reset your Form I-9.

  2. Log back in at app.ascen.com and redo the I-9, this time entering a different authorized representative — anyone you trust who isn't you (see Who can be my Authorized Representative for Form I-9?).
