Why do you require personal information about representatives from my company (Know-your-business, KYB)?

Last updated: July 30, 2026

Summary: Before your account can go live, we're required to verify your business and the people who ultimately own or control it — this is called Know Your Business (KYB). To do that we collect some details about your company and about your authorized representative and beneficial owners. It's a regulatory requirement (anti–money-laundering / know-your-customer rules) and it protects everyone on the platform from fraud.

What KYB is and why it's required

Know Your Business (KYB) is the process of confirming that a business is real, legitimate, and who it says it is — and identifying the individuals behind it. We are required to complete this verification before we can do business with you.

Completing KYB isn't just a formality — it keeps bad actors off the platform and protects your business, your clients, and your workers.

Who we need information about

  • Your business — the legal entity itself.

  • An authorized representative — a person at your company authorized to set up and act on the account.

  • Ultimate Beneficial Owners (UBOs) — the individuals who ultimately own or control the business. Generally this means anyone who owns 25% or more of the company, plus a person who exercises significant control (for example, a senior officer). A business can have one UBO or several; we need each of them verified.

What we collect

  • About the business: its legal name, business address, and tax/registration identifiers.

  • About the representative and each UBO: full name, date of birth, home address, and a national ID number, along with identity verification — typically a photo of a government-issued ID, and in some cases a quick selfie/liveness check to confirm the ID belongs to that person.

What to expect

  1. When you set up your account, you'll be guided through a short verification step for the business and for the representative/owners.

  2. We review and verify the information. If anything is unclear or missing, we'll reach out for the specific item rather than making you start over.

  3. Once verification clears, your account — and the clients, jobs, and assignments under it — can be approved and go live.

Until KYB is complete, approvals are held, so completing it promptly keeps your onboarding moving.
